The night of December 9th 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut, lead singer Jim Morrison became the first rock artist to get arrested on stage during a performance. After singing an impromptu song taunting the police leading to his arrest, the concert came to an abrupt halt only halfway through the first set.
During the live 1969 show in Tampa, the Goddess of Rock was arrested post concert after yelling and cursing at the police for being asked to calm down her own audience. After spending a night in jail, all charges were dropped in the decision that she was just exercising her first amendment.
